I usually work for pay. I work at multiple professions. Writing, singing and playing music and vagabonding. I actually love that last job description. But just because I write, sing and play, and vagabond doesn’t mean I’m going to get paid. I try to persevere. It’s the only way I can keep from having to live under a bridge somewhere in La Plata County.
I’m watching and listening this week to what is going on in our nation’s capital. Democrats are blaming the Republicans for the failure of Congress to pass an “economic rescue” package. (Gee, I thought Democrats were the MAJORITY in both Congressional houses and with that UNITY could pass whatever they wanted.) Republicans are accusing the Democrats of making an economic issue a political issue. (Gee, I thought Republicans were the party of sound economic minds and their economics WERE political.)
Neither major party is making any headway with me. They both make me sick. Political ads make me sick. Extremists on both sides make me sick. Hollywood actors using their fame to make political hay make me sick. I hope I don’t get physically sick, because then I’ll have to find the money to pay a doctor. Doctors, bless their souls, cost as much, or more, than politicians. This is one of those election years when “none of the above” would be a clear alternative, not just a joke.
I’m tired of my patriotism being judged by my political leanings. I’ve been a Democrat since I first registered, but I have voted Republican more times than I can count. I always figured the best way to change my political party would be to change things from within...not by changing parties. As far as I’m concerned, someone can challenge my patriotism all they want. I know the truth. I vote in every election...for the person or the issue, not the party. I’m not a Nazi if I vote Republican. And I’m not a Socialist if I vote Democrat. Where the hell are we? Germany in the 1930's? Russia in 1917? (Oh yeah, I forgot. Russians weren’t voting then. The Tsar had hereditary control, and the citizens had to rebel. Talk about fortitude . . . even it was for the wrong guy . . . Lenin.)
This crap in our country has gone on long enough. I’m not advocating rebellion, but we do need an uprising. An uprising by sound-minded citizens would prevent government from over-regulating private enterprise, but protect those citizens from having to bail out private enterprise. Even so, citizens have a responsibility to not be gullible. Let a business rise or fall on its own merits. I know my business has to do that. No one guarantees me a “golden parachute” if things don’t work out.
Perhaps I’ll see you under a bridge. Bring some sterno to cook food and a couple of dogs to stay warm. If you don’t have a dog, I’ll loan you one of mine. It could be a long winter. Printer Friendly Version

The bail-out is a swindle - an economic warfare against America - counterfeiting the money is an old scheme to steal the wealth from the people and transfer wealth to a few in control (i.e., Federal Reserve, a private bank). I'm all for uprising . . .
