| Bye, Bye Drought? |
| At the end of last November, the Four Corners region reverted back to an Abnormally Dry category on the U.S. Drought Monitor which is its first drought classification since September 2007. December snows and rains squashed this most recent drought rating, and data indicates that conditions have been more normal through the past year. In addition, precipitation records show that the last two Decembers, for 2007 and 2008, have had steadily increasing precipitation depth and moisture content. Read Bye, Bye Drought? |

| It Could Be Worse |
| It would be easy to say, “It can’t get any worse than it is right now.” The truth is that it is getting worse for many in southwest Colorado. | Our Journey Has Begun |
| The Durango Guardian’s first fiscal year is coming to a close!! We began around March 1, 2008, and everything’s been growing since. It’s a proper time to reflect on what’s been accomplished, see where we’ve been, and toss out some new ideas for what promises to be a challenging future.
We’ve assembled a good core of local people as paid editors and writers. Public participation has increased, and many contribute quite frequently!! Thank you, one and all. This is what citizen journalism is all about. Read Our Journey Has Begun |

| Massive Self-Serving Villainy of Mainstream News Media |
I assert here that the mainstream news media: (1) pretends to be serving the people ("the public's right to know"),
(2) but has been massively deceiving by omission to the American people,
(3) and, thereby, receives more paid advertising revenue for themselves,
(4) resulting in their very great responsibility for the financial crisis that afflicts the country. Read Massive Self-Serving Villainy of Mainstream News Media |
